All righty, I want to get a computer and I thought about getting the new mac mini with the intel core duo in it. But the grafics card sucks so I  might wait until they upgrade it. I also have my eye on some dells and hps. And don't say macs suck, get windows. Well we have thread about macs vs windows post you opinions there not here. I'm looking for a computer that good with games and has the basic other stuff. All suggestions will be appreciated.

Dude seriously.

You want a game box. Mac does not offer that.

For your purposes (a cheap machine to play some sweet games), you want a Windows.

Once you come to that conclusion, we can talk. Cheesy

Holy **** I just said I'm not hear too diss mac or windows and guess what with the new mac mini I CAN play any of the windows. Look it up. As for the gamebox, seriously I'm not going to be addicted computer games so I'm not going to spend what $1000 for a computer that is only good with games. I need something reliable for school but I'd like to be able to play some good games. And because my dad makes no sense he won't get me the mac mini even though it's cheaper than what ever I'm going to get. But I'm still open to suggestions but come on

I use a Computer that runs Windows Vista and I'm able to play games, program Java, use Word, get school work done, use multiple monitors (which isn't hard to do). I recommend it.

Here's my info:
Windows Vista(TM) Home Premium
Manufactured by Hewlett-Packard Company
Processor: Intel(r) Core(TM)2 CPU        6400 @ 2.13GHz  2.13GHz
Memory (RAM): 2046 MB
System type: 32-bit Operating System.

The memory is very good, the computer is fast, and highly versatile. Vista has already adapted to most things anyway.
I'm not advertising for Windows, but this computer is good all-around.
I don't know the price, but if you go for something like this, it's worth it.

Just adding my input. Any questions? Just ask.

My current computer came with Vista, and if your only option is XP, it's also very good. A computer I previously used had XP and it worked fine. Up until I was an idiot and got spywared/ virused (My dad fixed it and now uses it as a server). Vista has a lot more safety features and even has "Gadgets" on the side that you can download and such. (They're awesome, I even have a Sticky Note-type thing)
Basically, if you're smart about what you do, there aren't any problems with how either of these Operating Systems work. Both did everything I wanted them to do.

Wrong. Mac can not run .exe's without a secondary program, which slows down most games to the point where they are unplayable.

Lol. Macs cost upper hundreds, low thousands. You can get a $250 PC that'll suit you fine. Also, Windows is better at Mac in the software department. Meaning ALL software. Not just games.

Seriously dude. Windows cost less and do more. Especially for what you want.

Mac = Hollister.

Windows = Pack of twenty t-shirts for 5 bucks.

Linux = Sewing kit.

Fine. Buy a Mac and not be able to use it for what you want. Enjoy.

if you go with a pc don't get an emachine because they suck. I had one and it crashed after like a month. It just wouldn't turn on. Also the button to turn on/off the monitor broke and kept getting stuck like crooked inside of it. Hp's are pretty good nowadays but kinda pricey to get a good one.
